OUTREACH

The community organizations we support and tithe to are:  Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE), The Awareness Project, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and Church on the Slab
In the past, COU has given back to the community through supporting other programs such as,  I Can Still Shine, Habitat for Humanity, GRACE Transitional Housing Program, a prison ministry, and AIDS support ministry.
The Rev. Carol Record Scholarship Fund has provided numerous scholarships for graduating seniors in the GCISD.

G.R.A.C.E

G.R.A.C.E. Food Bank ~ Another extension of our love and community outreach is through our contributions to GRACE.  GRACE’s mission is to provide food, clothing and emergency assistance to people in need. The third Sunday of each month is Spam Sunday, when we ask everyone to bring a can of Spam, which will feed a family of four.  Our generous congregants bring other staples as well.

The Awareness Project

Raising awareness of the environmental and socioeconomic issues we face in our communities, & implementing real solutions in and around the DFW/H.E.B area.

Tarrant Area Food Bank

Tarrant Area Food Bank was founded in 1982 by a group of Fort Worth residents concerned about hunger in their community. Three months after opening in October 1982, the organization had distributed donated food to 50 charities in Fort Worth, thanks to commercial donors and a holiday food drive by the Fort Worth community.

Church on the Slab

he Church on the Slab provides outreach to homeless veterans, elderly and working poor living in the streets of Tarrant County — food, water, clothing and spiritual guidance are daily aspects of our supportive services.

Let's work together.
