We offer Sunday morning classes for all age groups, infant through high school. We strive to provide a love-filled, supportive environment in which your child can grow and learn spiritually.
Sunday mornings, children and youth classes meet at 10:10 a.m. during the adult service. To ensure our youth are provided a comfortable atmosphere in which to learn and interact with peers their age, Center of Unity offers age-specific classes. Each age presents a different level of learning skills to coincide with age-appropriate lessons and activities.
Children and youth are encouraged to express their thoughts and uniqueness while being taught how Unity principles apply in their lives.
We want you, the parent, to feel confident that when you leave your children entrusted in our care that they will be in a safe place. Therefore, we always have two teachers in each classroom and all our teachers and childcare workers have undergone a thorough background check. If you as a parent have any concerns at all about any aspect of our Youth and Family Ministries program, please bring them to the attention of the Youth and Family Ministries Director, Amber Holland.
Our classrooms are divided into the following ages:
- Nursery (Infants to 2 years)
Babies and toddlers are learning something every waking moment, and we want their church time to be a wonderful experience for them. Many special teaching aides are used for this age group and we ensure individual love and attention. Parents are invited to observe this special class any time.
- 3 years – Kindergarten
Through interactive activities and crafts, your children are taught life affirming lessons from the Bible and discover how it applies to their everyday life. Each week children travel to an imaginative world with puppets, songs and group participation.
- Grades 1 & 2
- Grades 3 – 5
We want our kids to LOVE CHURCH! We have a creative, interactive environment for them to experience God’s love, love others and love life. Each week your child will enter an experience filled with exciting games, great music and creative learning. We connect with your child in an experience designed just for them.
For the first 15 minutes of class (Infants – Grade 6), we meet in the 3rd, 4th & 5th grade room for music and sharing. The children then go to their age-level classes for prayer, affirmation, meditation, story-telling, and creative expression. After class the children join the adults in the sanctuary for a few minutes of sharing their morning experience, and for the final song, and the Prayer for Protection. The children then return to their classroom to wait for their parents.
Our “Youth Ed Dollar” program was begun to add to our children’s enjoyment and is quite popular. After the parents pick up their children, they are free to take their dollars to the Youth Ed store to make their purchases.
Parent participation in our program is not only welcomed but strongly encouraged. If you would be interested in sitting in on a class, in helping one or more times a month in a class or even teaching a class, please let the Director of Youth and Family Ministries know.
