Beginning Thursday, November 21 at 3pm
We often hear that the holidays are not a time of joy for everyone. Family conflicts, losses, and myriad other challenges often seem bigger during the holiday season. That’s why we’re excited to announce the formation of a new weekly Grief Support Group.
Just in time for the holidays, the group will be facilitated by Sharon Crowder, LCSW. As a licensed social worker for over 25 years, Sharon has worked with people as they adjust to a variety of challenging life circumstances. A long-time church member who has volunteered in a number of capacities, Sharon can easily relate to what grieving people are going through, and she has a strong desire to help.
The group will meet weekly with the exception of Thursday, November 28th and December 26th. There will be a box available for love offerings but no one will be turned away. Come and feel supported in a non-judgmental environment where you can share your story, feel supported, and glean coping skills to use on your journey.
“Do not assume that he who seeks to comfort you now, lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. His life may also have much sadness and difficulty, that remains far beyond yours. Were it otherwise, he would never have been able to find these words.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
